US 61, from 1.5 mi North of LA 54 to 1 mi South of LA 54 - St. John the Baptist Parish - Soil Sampling Operations

There will be left lane closures on US 61, both northbound and southbound, from 1.5 miles north of LA 54 to 1 mile south of LA 54, between 6AM and 6PM, daily, beginning on Monday, May 18, 2026 through Friday, June 26, 2026, weather permitting, while crews perform soil sampling operations. At least one lane in each direction will be open at all times.
Permit Information:
There are no restrictions for oversized loads.
Detour Information:
Motorists may use the following route to avoid the lane closures:
Motorists traveling US 61 north may take LA 637 south to LA 44, then west to LA 3212, then north to re-intersect US 61.
Motorists traveling US 61 south may take LA 3213 south to LA 44, then east to LA 637, then north to re-intersect US 61.
