I-10 Widening and Reconstruction Project Weekly Road Closures

UPDATE: The closures scheduled for Friday, May 8 have been cancelled due to weather. The updated schedule for this weekend is listed below in bold.


Baton Rouge –
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces lane closures as part of the I-10 Widening Project in East Baton Rouge Parish. These closures, which are necessary for the progression of the project, will affect night traffic patterns.

DOTD advises motorists that construction activities are contingent on weather conditions and may be subject to change.

Nighttime Closures:
Note: Weather conditions may require lane closures to be shifted to the following night. Only one direction of the interstate will be closed at any given time.

  • I-110 Southbound Exit Ramp to Mississippi River Bridge *Alternating closure, weather dependent*
  • Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10
  • Full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • I-10 Westbound Flyover to Mississippi River Bridge
  • Sunday, May 10 to Monday, May 11
  • Nightly full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • I-110 Southbound Exit Ramp to Mississippi River Bridge *Alternating closure, weather dependent*
  • Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16
  • Full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • I-10 Westbound Flyover to Mississippi River Bridge
  • Saturday, May 16 to Monday, May 18
  • Nightly full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
