UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 146 north of Chatham, Jackson Parish (UPDATE 5/18/2026): DOTD advises motorists that this work is complete and the roadway was reopened to traffic on Saturday, May 16th.

(UPDATE 5/12/2026): DOTD advises motorists that due to recent inclement weather, this road closure on LA 146 in Jackson Parish has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Original notification - 5/5/2026:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, a section of LA 146 in Jackson Parish will be closed to thru traffic.
This closure is located approximately 2.0 miles northwest of its intersection with LA 4, and is necessary to allow for the replacement of a cross drain pipe that is impacting the integrity of the roadway.
The LA 146 road closure is anticipated to last 2 days, and should be reopened Sunday, May 10th, 2026.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason.
Restrictions/Permits:
Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route:
Detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
