PROJECT UPDATE: Overlay project on several routes in Caddo & Bossier Parishes
SHREVEPORT – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that all asphalt paving is complete as part of the ongoing $2.2 million project to repair sections of several routes in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.
These routes include:
- LA 614 from US 80 to LA 157 in Haughton (Bossier Parish)
- US 80 (Greenwood Rd) from LA 3094 (Hearne Ave) to Johnson St. in Shreveport (Caddo Parish)
- LA 511 (70th St.) from Line Ave. to Linwood Ave. in Shreveport (Caddo Parish)
- LA 789 from the Caddo/DeSoto Parish line north approx. 0.5 mile (Caddo Parish)
LA 789 and LA 614 have also received the permanent striping, with LA 511 and US 80 scheduled to begin striping the week of May 4, 2026, weather permitting.
The project also included full-depth patching at specified locations, which is a process that involves removing old material down to the roadway base and replacing with new base and asphalt to strengthen the performance of the roadway.
Motorists should be aware that these sections of roadway are still active construction zones, and that drivers may encounter crews & equipment during daytime working hours. Please drive with caution through these areas.
The overall completion of the project is anticipated to be late May 2026, weather permitting.
This project is funded through House Bill 406 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session.
Alternate Route: No detour is necessary as part of this project.
