DOTD Announces Closure of Little Sandy Creek Bridge on LA 409 Beginning April 27 - East Baton Rouge Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the Little Sandy Creek Bridge located on LA 409 (Liberty Road) will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, April 27, 2026, for a full bridge replacement.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely remove and replace the existing structure. The project is expected to be completed by late summer 2026, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists are advised to follow the posted detour routes:
- LA 409 South: LA 959 west to LA 67 south to LA 64 east
- LA 409 North: LA 64 west to LA 67 north to LA 959 east

Safety Reminder: DOTD urges drivers to plan accordingly, allowing extra travel time and exercising caution when driving through construction zones.
