Lane closure: North Lakeshore Drive - Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced a continuous closure of the left lane on North Lakeshore Drive between the Westbound I-10 entrance ramp and the loop under the I-10 bridge, beginning 8 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, through 5 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026.
All traffic will be stopped by flaggers (law enforcement) at short intervals during barrier installation to allow equipment to cross the roadway.
The closure is necessary for installation of temporary barrier and subsequent construction of a crane staging area. Work will be conducted weather permitting.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
