DOTD announces start of emergency cross drain replacement project on La. 13 in St. Landry Parish

ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, April 13, 2026, construction will commence on a $260,000 emergency cross drain replacement at the intersection of LA 13 and W. Ash Ave.
PROJECT SCOPE This project consist of the replacement of an existing cross drain, catch basin, and related work.
WORK SCHEDULE Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS Beginning on April 13, 2026 through April 27, 2026 at 7 a.m. La. 13 will be closed to thru traffic approximately 0.2 miles south of U.S. 90. Emergency vehicles will not have access. This road closure is necessary to allow crews to remove and replace the existing cross drain.
After the initial 14 day closure, there will be intermittent lane closures throughout the project. The road will be open to regular traffic, including emergency vehicles, with a 12-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
The posted detour route will include U.S. 190, LA 91, and LA 757.
The project is estimated to be complete in June 2026.
