BATON ROUGE, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is encouraging first responders and partner agencies across the state to participate in Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Responder Training on April 9, 2026, in Baton Rouge. The free, in-person training will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the LTRC TTEC auditorium located at 4099 Gourrier Ave. Participants can register at this link.
DOTD continues to support TIM training as a critical component of improving roadway safety in Louisiana. The training brings together law enforcement, fire/rescue, emergency medical services, towing and recovery, emergency management, communications, public works, and transportation personnel to strengthen coordination and response during traffic incidents.
“TIM training plays a critical role in keeping both motorists and responders safe,” said DOTD Secretary Glenn Ledet. “We encourage agencies across Louisiana to take part in this effort as we continue working together to improve safety on our roadways.”
The course provides practical, hands-on instruction focused on responder safety, quick clearance of incidents, and improved communication among agencies. The four-hour class also offers continuing education credit for eligible participants and includes a nationally recognized TIM certificate upon completion.
DOTD has helped train nearly 24,000 responders across Louisiana and continues working with local, state, and federal partners to expand participation and enhance incident response statewide.
While the training is free, participating agencies are responsible for travel-related expenses, including lodging and meals.
