***UPDATE***DOTD announces $8.33 million improvement project on US 90 beginning April 20, 2026 – Calcasieu Parish

UPDATE: Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that work on US 90 from LA 397 to the Jefferson Davis Parish Line is scheduled to begin Monday, April 20, 2026.
The project will consist of grading, milling, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, reinforcing pavement mat, and related work.
Motorists can expect alternating lane closures on US 90 Eastbound and Westbound from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for the duration of the project. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
A 14-foot width restriction will be in place from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Prairie Contractors, LLC is the contractor for the project. This project is expected to be complete by November 9, 2026, weather permitting.
