DOTD to upgrade two traffic signals in Pineville, Rapides Parish
RAPIDES PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Sunday, March 29, 2026, upgrades will be installed at two traffic signals in Pineville, Rapides Parish.
The signals are located at the intersections of US 165 Business (Military Hwy) at LA 3144 (Edgewood Drive,) and US 167 Southbound Off-ramp (Pineville Expressway) at LA 28 East.
The signals at these two intersections will be powered down for approximately two hours each. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening, work will start at the traffic signal located at Military Hwy and Edgewood Drive. During this time, traffic will be managed via the use of flagging operations.
Once the signal at this intersection is back in operation, crews will move to the next location to repeat the process.
The work being done includes replacing the traffic signal controller cabinets. The cabinets are the “brains” of the traffic signal, housing all of the electronic equipment that manages the traffic signal timing, vehicle detection, and other types of communication.
Motorists are asked to use caution through these areas, and keep in mind that some delays may occur while the signals are being upgraded.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
