PROJECT UPDATE - LANE CLOSURES: LA 1207 from LA 115 TO LA 28, Rapides Parish (UPDATE 3/18/2026): The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that work is scheduled to resume on Monday, March 23, 2026 on the ongoing $4.5 million LA 1207 overlay project in Rapides Parish.
The contractor plans to re-mobilize on the project in order to proceed with the remainder of work, which includes milling to remove old asphalt, chip sealing, and new asphalt paving. The project, which stretches from LA 28 east to LA 115 near the community of Deville, was previously ‘winterized’ due to temperature and other weather constraints that limited certain construction activities.
Drivers should be aware that construction will be taking place with intermittent lane closures going into effect. Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution through the work zone.
The entire project is anticipated to be completed in June 2026, weather and other factors permitting.
This project is made possible by funding allocated via the Louisiana Transportation Infrastructure Fund (LTIF 2.0).
The contract was awarded to Diamond B Construction Co., LLC.
Permit/Detour section:
A 12-foot width restriction will be in place on LA 1207 between LA 115 and LA 28.
There are no detours associated with this project.
Safety Reminder:
All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
