UPDATE - EMERGENCY INTERSTATE CLOSURE: I-20 eastbound in Ruston, Lincoln Parish (UPDATE 3/18/2026 1:45PM): DOTD advises motorists that all lanes of I-20 eastbound in Lincoln Parish are back OPEN to traffic following this morning's crash.

(UPDATE 3/18/2026 10:45AM): DOTD advises motorists that one lane has reopened on I-20 eastbound between the Tarbutton Rd and LA 544 (Tech Dr/Cooktown Rd) interchanges in Ruston, Lincoln Parish.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that a section of I-20 eastbound in Ruston, Lincoln Parish is currently closed due to an overturned 18-wheeler.
The closure impacts all lanes of the interstate eastbound between the Tarbutton Road and LA 544 (Tech Drive/Cooktown Rd) interchanges.
Law enforcement is currently diverting traffic. Hazmat crews are en route to address the situation.
Questions regarding the crash should be directed to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Restrictions/Permits: Total interstate closure in the eastbound direction. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Alternate routes include US 80.
