DOTD announces improvement at intersection of LA 1256 and W. Calcasieu Blvd. in Sulphur to begin March 16, 2026 – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that improvement work on LA 1256 at the Patch Street/West Calcasieu Boulevard intersection is set to begin Monday, March 16, 2026.
Lane closure:
- The right turn-lane at LA 1256 from 500 feet north of West Calcasieu Boulevard to West Calcasieu Boulevard will be closed, beginning 8 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, through 3 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026.
- Motorists can still turn right onto West Calcasieu Boulevard from LA 1256 Southbound lane.
The project is anticipated to be complete by June 2026 , weather permitting.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
