NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURES: Jimmie Davis Bridge project (LA 511) in Caddo & Bossier Parishes CADDO/BOSSIER PARISHES – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that nighttime lane closures have been scheduled related to ongoing construction for the new Jimmie Davis Bridge (LA 511) project over the Red River in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.
These lane closures will take place over the existing bridge beginning on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. nightly for approximately 2 months, weather permitting.
Traffic crossing the bridge will be managed through the use of flagging/pilot car operations.
The purpose of this work is to erect a painting containment structure on the bridge.
Other construction activities continue on the $361 million project, which involves build a new 4-lane bridge over the Red River, along with widening and realigning LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Hwy/E 70th Street).
