UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 789 over Foster Creek, Caddo Parish
(UPDATE 3/19/2026): DOTD advises motorists that the repairs on the LA 789 bridge over Foster Creek in Caddo Parish are complete and the bridge has been REOPENED.

Original notification - 3/9/2026:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, March 16, 2026, the LA 789 bridge over Foster Creek in south Caddo Parish will be closed.
This closure is scheduled to be in place until Friday, March 20, 2026, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform piling repairs.
This bridge is located approximately 4.3 miles south of the intersection with LA 169 (4 Forks Road).
These important repairs help ensure the structure remains in service to the community, providing critical connectivity.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
