BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the new Interstate 10 on- and – off ramps at Pecue Lane will open to traffic Wednesday, February 18, marking the completion of the I-10/Pecue Lane Interchange Project in East Baton Rouge Parish.
With the opening of the interstate ramps, the diverging diamond interchange (DDI) on Pecue Lane, which opened to traffic last month, will operate as designed. The DDI is intended to improve traffic flow and enhance safety by reducing conflict points and allowing for more efficient movement of vehicles on and off the interstate. DOTD encourages motorists to familiarize themselves with DDI’s, including viewing this informational video that demonstrates how the new interchange will operate.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution and patience as drivers adjust to the new traffic configuration and the fully operational interchange. Drivers should pay close attention to posted signage, pavement markings and traffic signals.
Over the coming weeks, DOTD will monitor traffic patterns and make signal timing adjustments as needed to optimize traffic flow and overall operations at the interchange. Minor delays may occur during this adjustment period.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the project will be announced at a later date.
