UPDATE - REOPENED: LA 517 in Bryceland, Bienville Parish (UPDATE 2/19/2026): DOTD advises motorists that repairs are complete at the RR crossing on LA 517 in Bryceland and the roadway has been reopened. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original notification - 2/15/2026:
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that LA 517 at its intersection with LA 9 at the railroad crossing in the Village of Bryceland, Bienville Parish is closed, effective immediately.
This closure is necessary to allow the railroad company to perform emergency repairs to the crossing at this location.
The closure is anticipated to remain in place until Tuesday, February 17, 2026, though that is dependent on the progress of the repairs.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.
