RAMP CLOSURES: I-20 eastbound off-ramp to Benton Rd., Bossier Parish (I-20 rehab project) BOSSIER CITY, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be intermittent closures of the I-20 eastbound off-ramp to LA 3 (Benton Road) in Bossier City as part of the ongoing I-20 major rehabilitation project.
The ramp closures are scheduled as follows:
- Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday, February 20, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
These ramp closures are necessary to allow for permanent roadway striping operations to be conducted on the ramp and approaching roadway. This work will be performed weather permitting.
Eastbound motorists on I-20 may utilize the Hamilton Road, Old Minden Road or Airline Drive exits.
As a reminder, all major construction work such as concrete paving on the project is completed, though remaining tasks require short-duration alternating lane closures.
Keep up with the latest progress updates and activities at the I-20 project webpage here.
Special note:
At this time, the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) prohibition will remain in effect due to narrow lane widths at certain locations within the work zone. This is enforced under Louisiana Revised Statute 32:327 from Hamilton Road to Industrial Drive (both directions). CMV drivers must continue to utilize the primary detour of I-220.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
