DOTD announces drainage improvement project on LA 452 in Avoyelles Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a $856,628 project to provide drainage improvements on LA 452 (S. Preston Street) at its intersection with Caldwell Street in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish.
Work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at approximately 7:00 a.m., and includes clearing and grubbing to remove vegetation, drainage structure installation, milling to remove old asphalt, pavement patching, new asphalt paving, and related work.
Alternating lane closures will necessary to allow construction to progress safely and efficiently. Motorists should drive with caution through the work zone.
The contract was awarded to Merrick, LLC., with all work anticipated to be complete in June 2026, weather permitting.
Alternate route: No detours are associated with this work; only alternating lane closures.
