UPDATE - REOPENED: US 165 Bus (Jackson Street Bridge), Rapides Parish


(UPDATE 2/3/2026): DOTD advises motorists that the US 165 Business (Jackson Street Bridge) has been REOPENED. We appreciate the patience of the traveling public while this work was underway.

Original notification - 2/2/2026:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the US 165 Business (Jackson Street Bridge) over the Red River in Rapides Parish will be closed.

This full bridge closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for one (1) day, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform repairs to the barriers on the bridge.

This bridge is located approximately 1.3 miles south of the intersection with Donahue Ferry Road in Pineville.

Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Alternate Route: River crossings can be accessed via US 167 or US 71.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
