Allen Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that work on a $3.16 million project to improve US 190 from the Calcasieu River Bridge to US 165 in Kinder is scheduled to begin Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Motorists can expect intermittent daily lane closures in both directions of US 190 during daytime hours until the completion of the project. The project is anticipated to be complete by May 2026, weather permitting.
Closures will be necessary for crews to complete milling of asphalt pavement, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, and related work.
Prairie Construction is the contractor for the project.
