DOTD announces upcoming US 61 asphalt patching project in St. Charles Parish

Jefferson Parish, LA. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that starting Sunday, January 11, work will begin on a $900,000 highway patching project on US 61/Airline Hwy. in St. Charles Parish. The project covers 3.5 miles of highway between LA 50/Almedia Rd. and Ormond Blvd.

Scope of Work
Asphalt patching.

Travel Impacts
Drivers can expect single-lane closures, primarily overnight. Single lane closures may occur on weekends.

Work Hours
Work will primarily occur from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Lane closures are restricted weekdays between 5:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Daily single-lane closures are permitted on the weekends.

Additional Details
Drivers should expect delays during work hours and are encouraged to allow extra time for travel. Emergency vehicles will have access to the area, although they may experience delays.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of March, weather permitting.
