NIGHTTIME RAMP CLOSURES: I-49 in Alexandria, Rapides Parish The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, there will be alternating nighttime ramp closures on both entrance and exit ramps along a section of I-49 in Alexandria.
These nighttime ramp closures will take place on I-49 northbound and southbound between Exit 90 (US 71/US 167) and Exit 86 (US 71/US 165) from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night.
These closures are necessary as part of an ongoing project to replace structure mounted overhead signs along the interstate, and are anticipated to be completed by late January 2026, weather permitting.
Restrictions/Permits: N/A
Alternate Route: There are no detours associated with this work.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
