The CN Railroad crossing on LA 628 (E. 5th Street), located 126 feet east of LA 44, will be closed from 6AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 through 8AM on Friday, December 12, 2025, weather permitting, while CN Railroad crews make repairs to the track and asphalt surface.

The following detour will be posted to avoid the road closure:
Motorists traveling LA 628 east shall take LA 44 west to LA 636-3, then east to re-intersect LA 628.
Motorists traveling LA 628 west may take LA 636-3 west to LA 44, then east to re-intersect LA 628.
