DOTD announces traffic shift and temporary exit change for U.S. 90 Ambassador Caffery Interchange Project
Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 4:24:57 PM
BROUSSARD, La. - On Tuesday, December 2, construction crews will begin the process to shift traffic from the U.S. 90 northbound frontage road onto the new frontage road bridge.

Once transitioned, drivers on U.S. 90 northbound wanting to access Albertson Parkway will use a temporary exit onto the frontage road that will then take drivers over the new northbound frontage road bridge and continue on the frontage road until they reach Albertson Parkway.

The current Albertson Parkway exit on the north side of the LA 182 bridge will be removed.

This shift is estimated to begin at 7 p.m. and continue throughout the night.

During the process of the traffic shift, drivers using U.S. 90 mainline and frontage roads will encounter intermittent and alternating lane closures on both the south and north sides of the northbound frontage road bridge. There also will be the potential for increased traffic congestion and travel delays through the area during the time of this traffic shift.

This traffic swap is necessary to start transitioning traffic into the final traffic configuration as the project reaches the end stages of completion.

The Ambassador Caffery Interchange construction project remains on schedule for completion by spring 2026.
