DOTD announces a $1.99 million project to improve US 90 and LA 3256 anticipated to begin Dec. 1, 2025 – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that work on a $1.99 million project to improve US 90 and LA 3256 is anticipated to begin Monday, December 1, 2025.

Work will occur at the following locations:
  • US 90 from Ann Road to Horridge Street in Vinton
  • US 90 from Maple Street to N. Huntington Street in Sulphur
  • LA 3256 from E. Opelousas Street to US 90 in Lake Charles
Improvements include patching and asphalt overlay. Motorists can expect alternating lane closures at all locations throughout the duration of the project.

The project is anticipated to be complete by early 2026, weather permitting. R.E. Heidt is the contractor for the project.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
