LA 16 Eastbound Alternating Lane Closures near I-55 Overpass in Amite, LA – Tangipahoa Parish - Asphalt Paving Operations

There will be alternating lane closures on LA 16 Eastbound near the I-55 overpass at the following locations beginning on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 through Thursday, November 13, 2025, daily, from 6AM to 6PM, weather permitting, while crews perform asphalt paving operations.
Wednesday, November 12, 2025, 6AM to 6PM: LA 16 Eastbound left lane closure
Thursday, November 13, 2025, 6AM to 6PM: LA 16 Eastbound right lane and acceleration lane closures
Permit Information:
No restrictions for wide loads.
Detour Information:
Traffic may use the following routes to avoid the lane closures:
Motorists traveling LA 16 east may take I-55 south to LA 40 (Exit 40), then east to US 51, then north to re-intersect LA 16.
Motorists traveling LA 16 west may take US 51 south to LA 40, then west to I-55, then north to re-intersect LA 16.
