DOTD announces the start of a $1.6M Off-System Bridge Preservation Project over Bayou Teche in St. Mary Parish

ST. MARY PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) announces that work has recently began on a $1,559,383.00 off-system bridge preservation project to preserve the Centerville and Bridge Road (Jennings) Bridges over Bayou Teche in St. Mary Parish.

Work will consist of movable bridge structural, mechanical and electrical repairs, precast concrete piles, and related work.
Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Bridge closures are expected throughout the project. The Department will publish additional press releases for these planned bridge closures.

This project is estimated for completion in summer 2026.

The purpose of DOTD’s Off-System Bridge Program is to replace or rehabilitate structurally deficient or functionally obsolete parish structures in a cost efficient manner.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
