DOTD to host public meeting for Sugar House Road Extension project in Rapides Parish
ALEXANDRIA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the City of Alexandria are hosting an open-house public meeting for the proposed Sugar House Road Extension Project.
The proposed project develops a connector route between LA 1, I-49, and highways US 167 and US 71.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the project and to obtain input from interested parties. There will be exhibits highlighting route alternatives and additional project information.
Representatives from the project team will be available at the open house to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project.
Meeting details are as follows:
Thursday, November 13, 2025 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Frank O. Hunter Basketball Gym 2399 Willow Glen River Rd. Alexandria, LA 71302
Verbal and written comments on the project can be submitted at the meeting.
Members of the community and other stakeholders who are interested in learning more about the project and providing feedback are strongly urged to attend the meeting. The open-house format allows attendees to receive the same information at any point during the three hour time frame allotted for the meeting.
