LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, November 10, 2025, construction will commence on a $2.5 million project on La. 720 from La. 719 to La. 343 in Lafayette Parish.

PROJECT SCOPE
This 2.01-mile project will consist of clearing and grubbing, drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, lime treatment, in-place cement stabilized base, asphalt concrete overlay, and related work.

WORK SCHEDULE
The work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work; therefore, drivers should expect some delays.

Additionally, some work may require a three day road closure of La. 720 at the intersection of La. 343 (S. Richfield Rd.). DOTD will issue a separate press release for this closure.

The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

Emergency vehicles will have access through this area but may encounter delays.

The project is estimated for completion in late January 2026.

SAFETY REMINDER
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
