BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 583 over Bee Bayou in Richland Parish

Update 12/1/2025: Construction continues on this project. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, November 10, 2025, LA 583 will be closed to all traffic approximately 1 mile North of I-20, in Richland Parish.
The purpose of this bridge closure is to replace the LA 583 bridge over Bee Bayou. The bridge is expected to reopen early 2026. Also, in-place cement treated base and an asphalt overlay will be installed from South of I-20 to US 80 along LA 583.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
PERMIT/DETOUR: A detour route will be posted along I-20, LA 609 and US 80.
