LANE CLOSURES: Elevated section of I-49, Alexandria, Rapides Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises the public that beginning Monday, November 10th, 2025, there will be alternating lane closures throughout I-49 north bound and south bound entrance and exit ramps in Alexandria (Exit 80 – Exit 86) in Rapides Parish.

These lane closures are expected to last from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, and are necessary as part of an ongoing project to replace the roadway striping and other reflectorized pavement markings along this section of I-49.

All work is anticipated to be completed by December 2025, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact contruction times.

Permit/Detour section
No detours are associated with this project.

Safety Reminder
All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
