LANE CLOSURES: LA 840-6 (North 18th Street and Forsythe Avenue) from Hudson Lane to Bayou Desiard

OUACHITA PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the start of a project to patch jointed concrete pavement along LA 840-6 (North 18th Street and Forsythe Avenue) from Hudson Lane to Bayou Desiard.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 10, 2025, weather permitting.
Beginning November 10th, intermittent lane closures will be used to allow for construction operations.
Lane closure and work hour restrictions shall be as follows: Along North 18th Street, no lane closures are allowed Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
Drivers should anticipate some delays, particularly during peak travel times.
The entire project is anticipated to wrap up Late 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Safety reminder: DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
