DOTD announces temporary vehicular closure for LA 56/Boudreaux Canal Bridge for repair

Terrebonne Parish - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces a temporary vehicular closure of the LA 56/Boudreaux Canal Swing Bridge in Terrebonne Parish due to a mechanical failure involving the bridge’s hydraulic system.
The bridge will be open to marine traffic during this closure.
DOTD has already coordinated with an emergency bridge contractor who will be on site shortly. A repair timeline is not known at this time. As soon as it is determined a notice will be sent.
Motorists are asked to detour via LA 57.
