DOTD announces the closure of the LA 308/Golden Meadow Lift Bridge for repairs (Lafourche)

Lafourche Parish - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the closure of the LA 308/Golden Meadow Lift Bridge in Lafourche Parish due to a mechanical failure involving a bridge motor.
The motor is currently being sent to a specialty repair shop in Houma. The estimated reopening date for the bridge is Thursday, October 30.
The Golden Meadow Lift Bridge was constructed in 1970 and spans Bayou Lafourche in Golden Meadow. It is scheduled for a $20 million rehabilitation project in 2027.
