DOTD announces road closure on La. 178 in St. Landry Parish for drainage work

ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. - Today, the Louisiana DOTD announces that a section of La. 178 will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, October 23, 2025 10 p.m., weather permitting.
The closure will take place .43 miles north of its intersection with Napoleon Avenue.
The remaining section of La. 178 will be open to local traffic.
The closure is necessary to install new drainage across La. 178.
Detours for this closure include the following:
NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC Travel north on La. 182, and then east on La. 178.
SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC Travel south on La. 182, and then north on La. 178.
Emergency Vehicles will not have access to the area.
