Terrebonne Parish - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the full reopening of the LA 315/Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge in Houma. The bridge is scheduled to open to both vehicles and marine vessels, resuming normal operations, today at 4:30 p.m.

The bridge was closed on June 23 due to mechanical issues with the lift system. During the inspection, DOTD bridge inspectors also identified the need for additional structural support work.

To speed up the repairs, DOTD declared an emergency and contractors worked on a seven-day schedule, reconditioning two of the bridge’s original lift motors, and performing the structural support work including structural concrete work and the installation of new steel beams and rods.

With the reopening of the Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge, DOTD has finished repairs and all state-maintained movable bridges in Terrebonne Parish that were closed earlier this year are now operational.
