PROJECT UPDATE: US 165: 260’ N of Lowe’s Dr – Frontage Rd., Rapides Parish The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Monday, October 13, 2025, at 7:00 AM, weather permitting, the intersection of Frontage Road at US 165 southbound next to Greenwood Memorials, will be closed for work related to the ongoing project to repair US 165 at the US 167 interchange in Pineville.
This intersection closure is expected to last approximately 10 hours and will be reopened by 5pm on October 13th.
The traveling public can access the Frontage Road from LA 1203 (Maryhill Road) via US 71.
This $6.2 million project, which officially began construction on September 2, 2025, is expected to wrap up Phase 1 of construction in late November 2025.
Phase 2, which consists of closing the inside lanes of US 165, will begin immediately after Phase 1 is complete and the outside lanes/ramps are reopened.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in early 2026, weather and other factors permitting.
Permit/Detour section:
No detours are associated with this portion of the project. All other traffic control measures in the area will remain unchanged.

All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
