DOTD announces $4.7M project to repair a section of LA 530, Caddo Parish
CADDO PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a $4.7 million project to repair a portion of LA 530 near the Town of Oil City in north Caddo Parish.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 3, 2025.
The project includes full-depth patching to repair the base of the roadway at specified locations, milling to remove the old asphalt, and new asphalt paving on 5.3 miles of LA 530 from LA 538 in Oil City to I-49.
Related work also includes the replacement of cross drain pipes located under the roadway that help ensure adequate and proper drainage. LA 530 will need to be closed during this work, and further details will be announced when that is scheduled.
Alternating lane closures will be necessary to allow construction activities to progress safely and efficiently, so motorists should be aware that these will be in place.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in late Spring 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Motorists are strongly urged to drive carefully through the work zone, keeping an eye out for crews and equipment, and to never drive while distracted or impaired.
