The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Friday, September 26, 2025, I-220 westbound between the I-49 and N. Market Street interchanges in Shreveport will be reduced to one lane.

This lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for one (1) day, and is necessary to allow crews with SWEPCO to perform work related to moving their electrical line(s) located near this area.

Please travel with caution and be aware of crews and equipment in the area.

Restrictions/Permits: Previously permitted oversized loads will be accommodated through the work zone.

Alternate Route: No detour necessary.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
