PROJECT UPDATE: LA 3227 Realignment at LA 157 (Phase 2), Bossier Parish
HAUGHTON – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the project to realign and build a new section of LA 3227 in Haughton, Bossier Parish is making significant progress.
As part of ongoing construction, beginning on Monday, September 29, 2025, Delacroix Street at its intersection with existing LA 3227 will be closed.
This closure is scheduled to be in place for two (2) weeks, and is necessary to allow the contractor to tie in the new section of LA 3227 to Delacriox Street. Motorists will still be able to access Delacroix Street from LA 157.
Other work in the project includes drainage improvements, permanent roadway striping and signage, and the eventual relocation of the traffic signal to the newly created LA 3227/LA 157 intersection.
This $6.5 million project, considered to be Phase 2, aims to support ongoing residential and economic growth in the expanding Haughton community by establishing essential infrastructure at this location.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in early 2026, weather and other factors permitting.
As a reminder, Phase 1 was completed in Summer 2024, and included the widening of LA 157 from two to five lanes, as well as other preparatory work ahead of Phase 2 construction.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
