DOTD Announces $3.8M Pavement Preservation Project on La. 178 in St. Landry Parish

St. Landry Parish, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Thursday, September 18, 2025, construction will begin on a $3.8 million project that will include a 2.457-mile section of La. 178. The project begins at the west junction of La. 182 and ends at the east junction of La. 182.

PROJECT SCOPE
The project will include clearing and grubbing, drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, lime treatment, in-place cement treated subgrade and base, pavement patching , asphalt concrete and related work.

WORK SCHEDULE
The work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS
The roadway will be reduced to one lane during working hours with unpaved surfacing. Drivers can expect minimal delays. A pilot vehicle will be used to help facilitate traffic.

Emergency vehicles will have access through this area but may encounter delays.

The project is estimated for completion in February 2026.
