I-12 Exit 59 off-ramps at LA 21 in Covington overnight closure Thursday night

St. Tammany Parish, La. - As part of the $57 million I-12: LA 21 to LA 1077 Widening Project, the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the off-ramps at Exit 59/LA 21 on I-12 in Covington will be closed overnight on Thursday, September 11, starting at 8 p.m.
The closures, which are only for off-ramps at Exit 59, will periodically block access for motorists, including emergency vehicles, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. due to concrete work related to highway signage. The work is weather permitting.
DOTD asks drivers to use the ramps at Pinnacle Parkway (Exit 60) or LA 1077 (Exit 57) during this time.
The widening project has made significant progress this summer, and contractors expect to open the new travel lanes by the end of October, weather permitting. Once finished, the entire I-12 corridor through Covington, nearly nine miles long, will have at least three travel lanes.
