Project update: I-210 lighting replacement substantially complete – Calcasieu Parish

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that work to install new lighting on Interstate 210 is substantially complete.
Work on the $8.09 million project began in March 2025.
The project consisted of installing 82 new light poles near and on the I-210 Prien Lake Bridge, along with electrical repairs and upgrades. New glare screens were also installed on the east approach of the bridge. These new lights were upgraded to LEDs.
The newly-installed lighting structures are stronger and more resilient than the previous previously-installed light structures.
Kiewit Louisiana Co. was the contractor for the project.
