DOTD to start state-funded pavement marking project in St. Mary Parish; Project-Related Ramp Closures Announced

ST. MARY PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) announces that beginning Sunday, September 7, work will begin on a state-funded $300,495 pavement marking project along a 8.026-mile stretch of U.S. 90 in St. Mary Parish.
PROJECT SCOPE Work will consist of replacing pavement markings and related work.
The project will begin west of its interchange with La. 182 in Berwick and end at its interchange with Duhon Blvd. in Amelia.
WORK SCHEDULE Work is expected to take place during the day and at night, weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS Rolling closures/slow moving operations are expected for U.S. 90 eastbound and westbound including entrance and exit ramps.
Additionally, nightly outside lane closures and exit ramp closures are expected between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on the following dates:
- September 8: Exit 174 (La. 182 Berwick) eastbound and westbound
- September 9: Exit 175A (Federal Ave.) and 175B (La. 182/U.S. 90 Bus.) eastbound and westbound
- September 10: Exit 176 (Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.) eastbound and westbound
- September 11: Exit 181 (Duhon Blvd.) eastbound
These closures are necessary for crews to safely remove and replace pavement markings on the gores at each exit.
Emergency vehicles will not have access to those exits at those dates and time.
This project is estimated for completion on September 29, 2025.
