$4.6M Bridge Preservation Project for La. 10 Bayou Carron Bridge Set to Kick-off September 10

St. Landry Parish, La. — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2025, construction will begin on a $4.6 million bridge preservation project to replace the existing bridge over Bayou Carron on La. 10.
PROJECT SCOPE Located 0.6 miles south of La. 103 in Washington, La, the project will include base course work, asphalt paving, bridge replacement, and pavement markings.
WORK SCHEDULE Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS The roadway will be reduced to one lane during working hours for initial phases of work. Therefore, motorists should expect delays. Emergency vehicles will have access through this area but may encounter delays.
After the initial phases are complete, replacement of the bridge will require complete closure of the roadway. A detour route will be provided.
The roadway closure estimated to last until completion of the project in April 2026.
