UPDATE: The start date for this closure has been moved.
Cameron Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that all lanes on LA 717 between Weekly Road and Louisiana Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic, starting Monday, September 15, 2025.
The closure is necessary for crews to replace the Klondike Bayou Bridge. The closure is anticipated to remain in effect until Friday, May 15, 2026, weather permitting.
Detour routes:
Motorists heading northbound or southbound on LA 717 can use LA 717 to LA 14, then back to LA 717 as a detour.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
