BRIDGE CLOSURES: LA 1232 in Winn Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, DOTD crews will begin overlaying the bridge approaches for the four bridges north of the village of Calvin in Winn Parish that were replaced on LA 1232 this year.
The bridges are as follows:
- LA 1232 over unnamed creek
- LA 1232 over Little Creek
- LA 1232 over unnamed creek
- LA 1232 over Kyiaies Creek
This work will take place beginning 3.1 miles east of the intersection of LA 1232 and LA 501, and proceed east for 1.5 miles.
The intent of these closures is to overlay the approaches to each of the four bridge sites. Crews will start at the eastern most bridge and work their way back west towards LA 501 overlaying one bridge per day.
DOTD crews will close the bridge site in the morning of each day and reopen the site at the end of the day, moving to the next bridge for the following morning. The work will take place on Wednesday, August 27th, Friday, August 29th, Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, and Wednesday, Sept. 3rd.
On days that work is not taking place, all four sites will be open to traffic.
Permit/Detour section:
Eastbound traffic will detour to LA 501, then south on LA 501 to its intersection with LA 156, then east on LA 156.
Westbound traffic will detour to LA 156, then west on LA 156 to its intersection with LA 501, then North on LA 501.
