REOPENED: Emergency Temporary Closure: Senator Ted Hickey Bridge

UPDATED: As of 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, the Senator Ted Hickey Bridge has reopened to all vehicular traffic with no restrictions. DOTD thanks the public for their patience while bridge engineers fixed the issue.
New Orleans - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has temporarily closed the Senator Ted Hickey Bridge in New Orleans due to mechanical problems.
The closure is expected to last at least through early next week, weather permitting, when inspection results will be available.
Marine traffic will continue to have accessibility during the vehicular closure.
Detours are available via US 90/Danziger Bridge and the I-10 high-rise.
DOTD appreciates the public's patience and will share updated information as it becomes available.
