***UPDATE***Full closure: Eastbound and Westbound College Street at the Texas Street intersection – Calcasieu Parish

UPDATE: The closure will take effect Monday, August 25, 2025.
Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced there will be a FULL closure on Eastbound and Westbound College Street at the Texas Street intersection, starting Monday, August 25, 2025, through Friday, September 19, 2025.
The closure is necessary for crews to make subsurface drainage repairs at the intersection of College Street and Texas Street.
Detour routes:
- Motorists heading westbound on College Street will head north on Fifth Ave., west on Prien Lake Road, south on Enterprise Boulevard, then west onto College Street.
- Motorists heading eastbound on College Street will head north on Enterprise Boulevard, east on Prien Lake Road, south on Fifth Avenue, then east on College.
(Note: The closure area is marked in RED. The detour route is marked in BLUE.)
Northbound and southbound Texas St. will remain open. Motorists traveling on Texas Street will NOT be able to turn onto College St. Safety reminder:

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
